There are Two Ways to Look at Life
Feb 17, 2020
One of the biggest challenges I face being a public figure is people putting me under a microscope and nit-picking every little thing I do. It makes me start to miss the days when no one knew who I was, and I was free to create in obscurity. Ironically when no one knew who I was, all I wanted was recognition.
It feels like all we have to do is tilt our head one way, and we can see things from a whole new angle. The idea that we’re going to die can be scary AF, but it’s also liberating AF, depending on how you want to look at it. The invention of the ship was the invention of the ship-wreck. With every solution, forms a new problem, and with every problem, comes the opportunity for new solutions.
Looking at this as Good vs. Bad is too basic of a mindset to improve our attitudes. Instead, we can DECIDE to focus on the Good vs. DECIDE to focus on the bad (and when you’re feeling really frisky, explore the idea that there is no such thing as good or bad!). How you look at life is how life will feel. We can’t control what happens to us, but we can control how we see and handle it. As I gain popularity, it’ll solve some old problems and create new ones, and I’m okay with that; I know what I signed up for and adjust accordingly.
What’s a new way you can look at an old problem?
